As a result of the Opioid pandemic, the United States Government has deemed that the crisis has been elevated to the status of Public Health Emergency. As a result, the organization has decided to partner with community members to spread information about the pandemic to empower people through knowledge. Each event includes information about how to use Narcan/Nalaxone HCL Nasal Spray in case of an accidental overdose and non-emergency access to the Contact Us Vent line for someone to talk to about quitting or more information. 

 

Instructions for use:

 

1. Check:

Check if you suspect an overdose

  1. Appears very sleepy
  2. Nonresponsive
  3. Not breathing well
  • Yell "Wake Up"
  • Shake the person gently
  • If they do not awaken go to step 2

 

2. Give:

Give first dose in the nose

HOLD nasal spray device with thumb on bottom of plunger

INSERT nozzle into either nostril

PRESS the plunger firmly to give 1st dose

Each nasal spray device contains one dose.

 

3. Call:

Call 911 immediately after giving first dose

 

4. Watch/Give:

  • WAIT 2-3 minutes to give medicine time to work
  • If the person wakes up go to step 5
  • If the person does not wake up continue to give doses every 2-3 minutes until they awaken

It is safe to keep giving doses

 

5. Stay

STAY until the ambulance arrives

GIVE another dose if the person becomes sleepy again

You may need to give all the doses in the pack
